Flyin' Fish

Today we drove to Seattle. After checking into our hotel we walked down to Pike Place Market. On the way we found this store. Summer, don't get excited, we didn't go in.

Pike Place Market was huge and we grazed our way through--cheese sandwiches, salmon cocktail, clam chowder, cheesecake, ice cream, hot chocolate.... It's a good thing we spent five hours walking around the city.

There were musicians playing on every corner throughout the city. This was a bluegrass band called "Slimpickins" that was great. They were playing in front of the original Starbucks. I'm kicking myself for not buying their CD. When we left the guy on the far right was playing the washboard.

Here's the famous flyin' fish at Pikes Place Market. It's hard to see, but this guy threw the fish and knocked a cup off some other guy's head. Exciting stuff....

Here's the obligatory Space Needle. Only $32 for the two of us to ride the elevator to the top, but as the tour guide pointed out, "The telescopes are free." Nevertheless, the view was beautiful and we couldn't come to Seattle and not do the Space needle.

Probably the highlight of the day was walking through fall leaves covering the ground--a rare treat for us.

We went in search of the perfect salmon and we found it. The dinner also came with a beautiful view of Puget Sound (or as Barb says, "The ocean").

Next stop, Mt. St. Helens.

I don't think all that food you are eating fits into the Nutro System plan, but what the heck, you're on vacation! Have fun!
